Dear Pokémon TCG fans, pay attention! The anticipation is growing because the promo cards from the Build & Battle Box of "Stormy Sparks" have been officially announced! new products
The cards were previously revealed with the announcement of the Pokémon TCG: Sparks of Flame products, but previously their images were stacked on top of each other, hiding the full artwork, abilities, and attacks.

All four cards are reprints from the set and feature exclusive artwork that can only be found in a Build & Battle Box. Wedgeflame, Baojian, Magneton and Servol have the special honor in this set of having their artwork decorated with the official set symbol.

Participation in prerelease events
You can get one of the coveted promo cards in a Stormy Sparks Build & Battle Box! These boxes are available before the official release date on November 8th if you participate in a Prerelease tournament. These will take place in select Pokémon TCG stores starting October 26th, 2024.
Another benefit of the Prerelease events is that they provide an excellent opportunity to show off your creative deck-building skills. In the Prerelease format, you get a pre-constructed 40-card deck and strengthen it with the cards from the four included booster packs. At the start of the game, four Prize cards are set aside, which is different from the regular 60-card decks with six Prize cards.
If there are no Pokémon TCG stores near you and you are already excited about the Build & Battle Box, you can easily pre-order it from an online store. This way you are well prepared and can secure your favorite cards as soon as they are available! Maybe you can organize your own Prerelease tournament with friends.
Highlights of the promo cards
No matter which promo card you get, it will undoubtedly have a decisive influence on your strategy! We'll show you how to use your promo card optimally and what you need to pay attention to.
wedge flame
The Blazing Charge attack does 100 damage, which may be enough to knock out a Basic Pokémon. If your opponent has four or fewer Prize cards, this attack does an additional 70 damage. With a total of 170 damage, this attack also hits Pokémon-ex pretty hard.
Wedgeflame's big advantage in a Prerelease tournament is that it only uses 4 Prize cards - so a 170 damage hit is almost guaranteed! However, don't forget that you need 3 Energy cards (2 Fire, 1 random) to power up this attack.
Baojian
The Baojian promo card will make your opponent's blood run cold! With the Icicle Loop attack , you can do 120 damage to your opponent's Pokémon and return an attached Energy to your hand. With the power of 120 damage, most single-price Pokémon can be Knocked Out. The additional ability to return an Energy card to your hand can be extremely helpful when Baojian is about to be Knocked Out.
If used strategically, Baojian's Snowfall Ability can help you win. In the Pokemon TCG expansion - Storm Sparks, there are two new Stadium cards that you may want to discard at the right time.
Magneton
Surprise your opponent with Magneton's ability High Voltage Discharge ! This allows you to attach up to three basic Energy cards from your discard pile to your Electric-type Pokémon as you wish. The downside? Magneton is knocked out. Although it is difficult to give up a Prize card, it is often worth it to enable future attacks. Magneton's evolution, Magnezone, has a high energy cost that can be more easily covered by High Voltage Discharge .
Servol
Need healing? Serpent can help you out! If you put Serpent from your hand onto your Bench, you can activate its Polite Healing ability to heal 30 damage to your Active Pokémon and remove a Special Condition. In the Pokemon TCG expansion - Stormy Sparks, there are many Pokémon that can make the game difficult for you with Special Conditions - so use Serpent's ability strategically!
